Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan Services
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service through which print materials not owned by the GTC Library may be borrowed from other library systems. GTC is a member of the Georgia Online Database (GOLD) interlibrary loan network. Membership in GOLD provides access to the collections of GOLD-member libraries statewide, as well as with other states in the Southeastern Library Information Network (SOLINET).
- Library customers initiate ILL requests by filling out forms for “ILL Book Request” or "ILL Article Request" and agreeing to all terms and conditions of the lending library. Requests for media such as videos, DVDs, Books on CD or tape or music, cannot be accepted.
- Loan period and renewal are determined by the lending institution and lending institutions may require that their materials be used in the library
- It is difficult to determine the length of time necessary to fill an ILL request. Customers should be notified of the availability of the requested book(s) or article(s) materials within two to four weeks of submitting their request.
- In most cases, there is no charge to the user for interlibrary loans. Some libraries do, however, charge a fee. Although we do everything possible to avoid such charges, if there is no alternative source we will pass the charges along to you, but not without your prior approval.
- The GTC Library complies with U.S. Copyright Law, Title 17 of the U.S. Code
