GTC Self-Paced New Student Orientation: LibGuide Home

This guide introduces new Gwinnett Technical College students to account set up, advising and registration, and campus resources.

We are so glad you chose Gwinnett Technical College to pursue your educational journey! For your Self-Paced Orientation there are several short video segments which should take about an hour total.

  • To begin your self-paced New Student Orientation please click on the play icon located on the Introduction and Technology video below. You will continue by watching the Register for Classes, Student Campus Resources, Campus Safety for All Students. 
  • Then you will need to click on the Active Shooter Response Training which is located below the Campus Safety video.  That short training will take about 8 minutes. 
  • Your last mandatory step will be to click on the self-paced New Student Orientation Review Questions.  You will be asked to type in your name, student number and answer 7 review questions about the videos. You only need to do the Review Quiz one time.  If you get some questions wrong, feel free to go back and review the videos again.  Good news, you don’t need to pass the Quiz with any particular score. It is intended to give you feedback to make sure you were listening and retaining the information.       
  • Make sure to continue to the bottom of the page for a link to helpful resources and documents!

An 8-minute video covering how to respond in the case there is an active shooter on campus. This is a part of our required student training. Once you have completed the video, close the window and complete the review quiz below.
