Collaborate Ultra

Collaborate Ultra is a web conferencing tool available right inside of Blackboard. Your instructor may use this tool to hold online class meetings or online office hours. Collaborate Ultra opens up in a web browser so there is no software to install. Google Chrome is required in order for Collaborate to function properly. Students and instructors must use Chrome.

The video below gives a quick tour of Collaborate Ultra.

BEST PRACTICES FOR BEST EXPERIENCE

  • Try getting in to your Collaborate session as early as the instructor will let you
  • Close all programs on your computer except for the browser you are using for your Collaborate Session
  • Use a hard-wired (Ethernet) connection, if available.  If not available, use a Wifi connection.
  • Only use up-to-date internet browsers that are supported by Blackboard Collaborate (Google Chrome or Firefox).
  • Do not use Video during the session
